Barrel and wide leg are two of the most wanted fits right now. Both relaxed. Both easy. On curvy hips, they do very different things.
wide leg: one long line.
Falls straight from the hip and stays wide to the hem. On curves it skims your hips and thighs instead of clinging, and draws one long line from waist to floor.

great if
You want to look taller, love heels, or want a fit that works with almost anything.
length
Your full length. The hem grazes your shoe or the floor.
style it
Tucked top, fitted bodysuit or a cropped knit, to show your waist.
barrel: shape and attitude.
Curves out through the leg and back in towards the ankle. A statement fit. On curves it adds volume through the leg, which balances fuller hips.

great if
You like a fashion-forward look and live in sneakers or flats.
length
Made to sit at the ankle. Your inseam, or a few centimetres less.
style it
A shorter top or a tight knit. Volume below, fitted on top.
The short version
Want long and easy? Go wide leg. Want shape and a statement? Go barrel. Either way: snug at the waist, room for your hips.
